Who we are and our beginning

The World Banya Association was founded in 2024 by Dominik Žitný (CEO), Jaroslav Penk and Jan Pokštefl.

The WBA was created with the aim of connecting banya associations around the world. Our humble beginnings included offering banya courses across European countries and organizing competitions and festivals to show people what a true treasure banya culture is.

Through these efforts, we have been able to bring together lovers, enthusiasts and professionals from the world of banya.

We also strive to connect countries that share similar sauna traditions, even if their names or methods differ. We recognise that at heart, we all aim to share the same message: to embrace the love of sauna and nature.

Finally, with great humility, we also work to ensure that the good name of BANYA is preserved. We focus on spreading awareness and knowledge about how this sauna culture should be practiced, so that no one misuses this gift of nature for personal profit or puts sauna clients at risk.

It is our pleasure to support every individual - and every country, that wishes to discover the treasures of this centuries-old culture, which offers natural healing for both body and soul.
